How to Check Your TIN (Tax Identification Number).

The Tax Identification Number (TIN) is a unique identifier for an individual or a company for the specific purpose of tax remittance and it is issued by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).

Finance Acts makes it mandatory for Tax Identification Number (TIN).

The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has created a way to check Your TIN. To check Your TIN, please use the process listed below

How to Check Your TIN for Individual Taxpayer

Method One

Visit the Website FIRS TIN VERIFICATION SYSTEM

You can search using three methods

Search Using TIN

  • Select Tax Identification Number on the Select Search Criteria Dropdown list below
  • Input your TIN (FIRS or JTB TIN) in the Search value field and click on the search button

Search Using Reg. Number

  • Select RC/BN on the Select Search Criteria Dropdown list below
  • Input your Registration Number in the Search value field and click on the search button

Search Using Phone Number

  • Select Phone Number on the Select Search Criteria Dropdown list below
  • Input your Phone Number in the Search value field and click on the search button

How to Check Your TIN for Individual Taxpayer

Method Two

Visit the Website TIN Registration Search Panel

  • Step 1: Select your Date of Birth.
  • Step 2:Select your preferred search criteria from the Select Criteria Dropdown-TIN or NIN or BVN or Registered Phone Number
  • Step 3: Provide the appropriate value (Either NIN or BVN) based on the search criteria in Step 2 above
  • Step 4. Confirm you are not a robot by checking the reCAPTCHA Box
  • Step 5: Click the Search button

How to Check Your TIN for Non Individual Taxpayer

Visit the Website TIN Registration Search Panel

  • Step 1: Select the Organization’s Date of Incorporation
  • Step 2: Select your preferred search criteria from the Select Criteria Dropdown-TIN or CAC registration Number or Registered Phone Number. CAC registration number should be typed in this format: BN1234 or IT1234 or RC1234.
  • Step 3: Provide the appropriate value based on the search criteria in Step 2 above.
  • Step 4: Confirm you are not a robot by checking the reCAPTCHA Box.
  • Step 5: Click the Search button.

    That means the direction given was totally wrong

    Good evening.I have tried all the given directives it has been redirecting me to a nearby FIRS office.I don’t have time to be looking for firs office.kindly guide me better.The available one has been collecting 5000# for the service. Is there no any other way.
