Screenshotting on Snapchat is possible with iOS 11 via the screen record feature. This function will allow you take a snapshot of your conversation on Snapchat. It wasn’t until recently that Android users had this feature and could perform it similarly on their devices. The coming of Android 10 made this happen.
How to Screenshot Snapchat Conversation on iOS
To screen record on iPhone, you have to first add the Screen Record function to Control Panel. After that you can take screenshot that your recipient won’t be able to know about.
Here’s how to access Screen Record on your iPhone
1. Navigate to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls. The Customize Controls page will make available settings of functionalities that your iPhone possess.
2. Move down the page until you locate a small, red circular icon with the name “Screen Recording”.
3. Tap the green cross icon to add it to Control Center and it will be added.
To use the screen recording function, tap the icon that has two circles.
How to Screenshot Snapchat Conversation on Android
Due to Android inability to record the screen before the coming of Android 10, there were a lot of screen recording apps and some tricks to screen record. But with Android 10, there is now a native function for screen recording.
Here’s to access Screen record on Android:
1. You can first open the snap you want to screenshot, and next, open the control panel by dragging from up down.
2. Swipe and locate the Screen Record feature and tap record.
3. A countdown will start counting and the screenshot will be taken.
4. To stop the recording, tap the stop icon.
As at the time of posting this guide, this workaround was working.
However, you won’t be able to start a screen recording when you’re in the process of viewing a snap.
Just be a little careful, there have been instances when the sender was alerted during the screen recording of their snap. Be sure to do some test to be sure that you won’t be caught. You should do this especially when you using a downgrade version of the app. You can test with a friend that doesn’t bother whether you take screenshots or not.
