MTN is the leading telecom provider taking the largest share of the telecommunication market. They have various useful and exciting tariff plans and in this article we’ll give you a rundown of them, their benefits and migration codes.
1. MTN Pulse
MTN Pulse is one the most popular plan especially among youths. The plan gives you access to make calls at a flat rate of 11.26k/sec to all networks after you make the first 60 seconds call of the day. The first 60 seconds call of the day is charged at 25.6k/sec which equates to N15.36k.
You can join MTN Pulse by either dailing *406*1# or texting *123*2*2#. You can also send 406 to 131 via SMS.

• 1.5GB Weekly data plan at N500

2. MTN XtraValue Carte
With MTN XtraValue Carte, you have national, international, roaming voice & data services in the mix from where you can enjoy a personalised bundle. Both MTN prepaid and post-paid customers can subscribe to this plan.
Below are the benefits of MTN XtraValue Carte
• Voice Bundle (National On-net and Off-net calls/SMS)
• Data Bundle (Browsing all websites)
• IDD Bundle (selected international destinations listed on the table below)
• Roaming Voice Bundle (Voice/SMS)
• Roaming Data Bundle (Browsing all websites)
To activate the XtraValue Carte Bundle, follow the below steps:
• Launch the myMTN App
• Click on “Bundle” and select “Build Your Bundles”
• Choose from a rich bouquet of voice, data, IDD and roaming bundles
Once you are successful, you will be automatically migrated to XtraValue Carte plan and your bundle account will be credited with the bundle elements.
3. MTN mPulse
MTN mPulse is aimed at student between the ages of 9 and 15 to help them leverage the internet to bring out the best in them. There are two features of the plan which are: mPulse Tariff and mPulse Website. Calls can be made on this plan at 15.36k/secs and SMS can be sent at N4.
Migrate to the MTN mPulse plan by dialing *344*1# or texting ‘mPulse’ to 131. You can also migrate using the MyMTNApp.

• Access to mPulse platform loaded with educational and fun content. You can access this site by going to www.mtnonline.com/mpulse
• You can get special data allowance to browse mPulse website at 200MB for N50 and 700MB for N150.
• On your birthday, you are gifted N200 airtime
• You can chat as you want with the free WhatsApp monthly data for 7 days.
4. MTN Awuf4U
If you love bonuses, then MTN Awuf4U was designed for you. When you subscribe to Awuf4U, you get 400% airtime bonus on every recharge you make from N100 and above or 275% on every recharge between N1 and N99. The 400% bonus is valid for 30 days while that of the 275% is valid for 14 days. This offer can be accessed whether you are a MTN Prepaid or Post-paid customer.
To access the Awufu4U offer simply recharge using the special code *888*PIN# or via VTU.
5. MTN BetaTalk
Another prepaid tariff plan is MTN BetaTalk that offers you 250% airtime bonus anytime you make recharge of N1 and above. Local calls can be made with the airtime bonus at 64k/sec (N38.40/min).
Bundled with this plan are special data packages: 40MB at N50 and 250MB at N200.
To migrate, just dial *123*2*1# or text BT to 131.
6. MTN XtraValue
If you migrate to MTN XtraValue, you start to get airtime rewards for National SMS & calls, International calls to some selected destinations and also data rewards.
There are two variant of the XtraValue plan namely: XtraTalk, which provides more airtime than data and XtraData, which let’s you have more data than airtime.
You can subscribe to the XtraValue bundles throgh various means. You can dial *131*2# and follow the prompts to choose your preferred XtraValue plan. You can also use SMS, myMTN App or myMTN web portal ( https://mymtn.com.ng ).
7. MTN XtraSpecial Prepaid
MTN XtraSpecial Prepaid is also an MTN prepaid plan that let’s you have call rate of 15.36k/sec for calls to all networks in Nigeria. It also allows you to call internationally to twelve (12) selected countries. You will be able to call local and international numbers to 12 selected countries at 15.36k/sec from the first second.
Also, you can access the internet with special data bundles the plan provides:
• 4.5GB monthly data bundle at N2000
• 3.75GB monthly data bundle at N1500
• 1.5GB 14-day data bundle at N750
You can migrate to MTN XtraSpecial Prepaid via USSD, SMS or the MyMTN app. Dial Dial either *408*1# or *123*2*4#. Migrate via SMS by sending 408 to 131.
8. MTN XtraSpecial Postpaid
MTN XtraSpecial Postpaid is a postpaid plan with offerings of 15.36k/sec for MTN-to-MTN calls, MTN-to-Other networks and to 12 selected international destinations. You get this offer right from the first second.
You don’t need to pay a daily or monthly subscription fee to access the MTN XtraSpecial Postpaid benefits.
Coming to data, MTN provided special data bundles with this plan and they are as follows:
• 4.5GB monthly data bundle at N2000
• 3.75GB monthly data bundle at N1500
• 1.5GB 14-day data bundle at N750
To migrate to XtraSpecial Postpaid is easy if you’re already a Postpaid customer. But, if you aren’t, then you’ll need to meet some conditions and present required documents at an MTN office.
9. MTN YafunYafun
YafunYafun gives new MTN customers lots of benefits after they have registered and activated their SIM card. After registering and activating your new SIM, this plan will give you 700% bonus on every recharge of N100 and above: 400% is usable for calls and SMS while 300% works for data to browse your favourite websites. Another exciting benefit of this plan is that it gives you N500 activation bonus: N400 for National calls/SMS and N100 for ALL Data activities.
To activate MTN YafunYafun, simply buy a new SIM, register and activate it, and select MTN YafunYafun tariff plan when the USSD menu shows. Should you fail to subscribe to any plan, YafunYafun plan will be activated by default.
10. MTN TruTalk
Subscribing to MTN TruTalk gives you access to a calling at a flat rate of 11.26k/sec to all networks. However, you have to first pay a daily access fee of N7.17.
If you’re not yet on MTN TruTalk, you can migrate by texting ‘TT’ to 131 or Dial *123*2*6#.
