These are software for commercial usage, that is a user is expected to pay to get full functionality of the software.
They often come with unpaid version as a trial ware,that it for trial purposes usually between 15-30 days.
Developer retains intellectual property/copyright of software
Source Code for the software are not released for the general public.
Software cannot be modified and redistributed by user
Example include the Window OS, Microsoft office Suite, Adobe Photoshop
ADVANTAGES
They are well written programs usually written by a large number of developers.
DISADVANTAGES
They are not free, they are required to be sold for a specified cost.
Source code is not available to the public.
